Look Gertrude! That bone looks much tastier than this one…
Let’s try to get some of that. Be careful Gertrude.
If we just pretend to look for something else… Ooo, tasty little thingy we’ve found here…
I don’t think this one wants to share with us Gertrude. Let’s try the other dog over there…
Hi there dog. Wanna share?
Rude animals those dogs. This one just ignores us.
If I go this way…
…you might be able to sneak around him from the other side. Stay low!
Gertrude, I don’t think our plan works. Perhaps if I try from this side…
…or from this side… I’m getting close now…
Yep! Did it! Quick, come over here… Did you get something?
Yeah, but it wasn’t worth all the effort.
Let’s go lay an egg… (Did I hear egg? Ooo yummy!)
What bold hens you have! I enjoyed your illustrated story - and it's good to see dogs eating raw food :-)
ReplyDeletethe pictures actually do tell the story>>>i went on a walk and a chicken and two dogs came to the fence line to bark at me>>>i know it sounds unbelievable but the chicken was the leader, yes the dogs would bark everytime the chicken would cakle at me and they would bark>>>so funny and my daughter would not believe that , but it was true>>and i posted a delightful little ditty just now, so please visit once again and can't wait for your 99 things to love about the netherlands...love putz
ReplyDeletePatient dog and bold hens? What next? LOL :)
ReplyDeleteGertrude is lucky the dog doesn't like chicken :)
ReplyDeleteOh you're too funny! Love your labradors they're gorgeous things.I think mine would have 'retrieved' the chooks tho. Then a bone is a very important distraction when hyoju're a dog.
ReplyDeleteI've got the feeling you've got too much time on your hands. But that might just be me...
ReplyDeletei love the arrangement on this one, even without the wordings these images tell a story.
ReplyDelete...and you saved the best photo for last, what an expression on his face.
You sure read their minds correctly.
ReplyDeleteJabblog,
ReplyDeletethe dogs don't touch the chickens, so they have nothing to be afraid of
Putz,
I believe you!
Jinksy,
it's all peace and harmony here ;-)
Skittles,
the dogs love chicken. I'm not sure if they recognize chickens as chicken. But to be on the safe side, we've told them not to touch the chickens ;-)
Baino,
even without the bones they wouldn't touch the chickens. Such good dogs!
Mara,
yes, well, uhm... Windows live writer makes it easy to do posts like this. In blogger it would take all day and longer. WLW: half an hour.
Dave,
Biggles can make the best faces and noises. I'll have to figure out how to get a video of him online. Big laughs guaranteed.
Rose,
I underestimated you all. Could have left the words and just posted the pictures ;-)
I'm with Mara (above). I thought, "Has it come to this? Carolina's taking pictures of dogs and chickens?"
ReplyDeleteBut I'm just a voice crying in the wilderness....
HA! Thanks. i needed that.
ReplyDeleteThose shots are so funny, what lovely dogs and chickens you have there. I want some chickens now...lol
ReplyDeleteAfter snapping a pic of Nigel in the hen house you know I'm loving this! And for the record, he has the same prey drive. :)
ReplyDeleteI love a good picture story, especially one with a happy ending. And any story that ends with being laid...
ReplyDeleteHAHAHAH!!! That was so hilarious...never thought I'd see chickens going for anything a dog had to offer up! Too funny and perfectly narrated..oh Gertrude- you are so sensible!
