Actually, from our point of view it was an afternoon in the tame East. There was a competition Western Riding going on in Nieuwe Pekela of all places. A nice opportunity for me to practice my photography.
there was a cowgirl on a Fjord horse, opening a gate
a cowgirl on an Arabian horse doing some reverse parking
a cowboy happily trotting along
a cowgirl doing something with a watering can while her horse checks out the scary thing with the saddle on it’s back
a poor lonesome cowboy
another poor lonesome cowboy
a lonesome cowgirl
another lonesome cowgirl
two happy campers who thought I was from the newspaper and wanted their picture taken (LOL)
a not so happy cowgirl
the atmosphere was very relaxed and friendly
even the horse is laughing (I’m expecting some ‘horse laugh’ comments now)
I took about 200 photos, had some nice conversations with people who explained some of the rules and regulations of Western Riding, and really enjoyed myself. I’m definitely going to visit more of these Western horse riding events. Good to practice photography.
