Biggles has the zoomies!
Even horses can get the zoomies. Willem was kind enough to show us.
Camera Critters is a fun meme, hosted by Misty Dawn.
Today hubs has bought me a wonderful, and I mean WONDERFUL, present. A new camera. From now on, I will use a Canon EOS 40D with an EF-S 17-85 mm IS USM zoomlens (if that means something to you, it doesn't to me, but still I am extremely happy with it) to make my photos. Until I've figured out what all the buttons and menu-options are for and how to use them, I will happily use the fully automatic, idiotproof point and shoot option it offers. It may take me some time to figure out what the camera can do; the user manual consists of about 200 pages! The photo at the top, Biggles in zoomies-mode, was shot with this new camera. If I press the button it takes a picture! With my old camera I could press the button, make a cup of tea, do the washing up, and thén it would take the picture. Missed lots of great photomoments that way. This one reacts immediately. I mean...gosh!
Now the only thing I need is a caddy to carry my camerabag and the user manual ;-)
AW Great pictures of the zoomies. I just love the zoomies. Jarie gets them like crazy. She will just be sitting in the Living room then just dash like mad in circles from room to room!
ReplyDeleteYou pictures are great, and wonderful that you captured kitty and horse zoomies too!!
Congrats on the new camera!!
T,
ReplyDeleteThanks! If our cats get the indoors zoomies, they even use the walls! Maybe I can get a picture of that now ;-)
cool the zoomies Sandy
ReplyDeletewow had no clue that is what it was called, mine does it too.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your brand new fancy camera!
ReplyDeleteThese are some great action shots!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the new camera. I got a Canon Rebel for Christmas so I know what you're saying about the manuel. :)
My post this week is on my photoblog: Carletta’s Captures.
Oh yeah! Quincy gets the zoomies daily!
ReplyDeleteSeriously...Biggles wants to come and snuggle with his Auntie Mel. See what you can do about it.
ReplyDeleteMy boys get the zoomies, but we've always called them The Evening Crazies!
Aren't new cameras incredible! It sounds like your old camera and mine were the same model. The only difference being that the pictures from your old camera were STILL AWESOME! ")
xoxoxoxo
P.S. Hey Doris...did you see I'm an Ingrid? ;)
Hey, congrats on the new camera....i'm still waiting for mine....in the meantime....i'll come and caddy for you!!
ReplyDeleteZoomies are the funniest thing in the animal kingdom :D Apart from the video on Mason Dixie's blog entitled sleeping dog runs into wall!
Slobbers xx
I learned about zoomies today! :D I am not yet so used to my camera, dont worry it will come.. :)
ReplyDeleteI think I'm right in saying that the Canon EOS 40D is a later model of the 'Rebel'? If so, it's similar to our Digital SLR, which was the equivalent of the first 'Rebel'. Lovely, lovely camera! I take my little point and shoot everywhere, but if I want to take a serious picture, it's the Canon I need.
ReplyDeleteThe zoomies! Our first dog was a great one for the zoomies, and even The Pirate, old as he was, loved to run in circles when he had the energy! I love your pictures, especially Willem.
By the way, you might enjoy my husband's blog entry for today. You'll find him at yellowswordfish.com - and I bet it makes you laugh. ;)
LOLTIME (which to me means LOLTearsInMyEyes)
ReplyDeleteI certainly wouldn't want him to run out of power when he was in the middle of something........
Oh god, I'm laughing so hard now.....wait...phew, had to take a breath....
That song is still in my head ;-)
I have to add your other half's blog to my list ;-) Thanks for that!
Hehehehe
We have plenty of Zoomie time here as well...lol
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the new camera! :-)
Great photos, good luck with the new camera. I still have a point n shoot and a delay.
ReplyDeleteGreat motion photos. New cameras are always fun. Enjoy it!
ReplyDeleteYou did a great job. Never heard of the zoomies until now. Have fun with rhe new camera. It is comes out blurry is it an arty name and call it art.
ReplyDeleteA shot of indoors zoomies would be great! For us... not you. My cats get in the biggest trouble when they start that up in the house.
ReplyDeleteNever knew the crazy run had a name. Interesting post with some great images to go with it.
As for the manual - 200 pages - ouch!
My suggestion... know what you want to do, then look it up. Manuals are so useless otherwise. Does anyone read them from cover to cover and remember what they just read!?
Have fun with it. I look forward to seeing some great photos come from the new toy.
Carolina: It looks like they were all off for a good romp.
ReplyDeleteOh yes, the zoomies. We call it "kitty frenzy" around here.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the new camera!
Great shots!
ReplyDeleteI love the photos of the zombies. My dogs and cats both can be that way.
ReplyDeleteCarolina :o) I didn't do the photos....Petey's Mom has been helping me out with them as I don't have photoshop, they're great aren't they?
ReplyDeleteYes, I do feel bad for No.26, oops! That was from last week when I had to do my Mono link twice! I only noticed it when it was too late....so sorreeee, No.26! I sorted it before linking to Wekkly Winners :o)
I didn't know that it was called the zoomies!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the new camera!
Yes, the zoomies are fun. Since I'm so fat, I don't get the zoomies much, but my friend, Pickles does.
ReplyDeleteHehehe so that is what it is called! Hubby and I refer to it as our dogs going zoom zoom so close :) Great entry!
ReplyDeleteLove the photos, Carolina. Congrats on your new camera!
ReplyDeleteMy cats (three) occasionally get the zoomies. I've noticed that the activity nearly always results in extra cat hair on the floor!
Thanks for your visit to my Today's Flowers post. I do enjoy seeing my Tulip Magnolia in bloom.
``Zoomies'' - what a great word, Carolina!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the new camera!! Sophie often gets the zoomies...it never fails to crack me up!! :)
ReplyDeleteThose were fun shots. I didn't know it was called zoomies either.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the new camera! I've lost my manual, refuse to pay for a new one so I've just been playing with everything. Have fun with yours. I know you will.
I didn't know it was called zoomies either!
ReplyDeleteI love doing the zoomies! Rabbits get zoomies too but they call it binkies, what about pigs?
ReplyDelete~lickies, Ludo
I'm drooling over your new camara! Of course... I wouldn't know how to work it either. Someday I will take a photography class and become educated, but until then, I will continue on my merry way taking fuzzy action shots and cutting peoples heads off.
ReplyDeleteCheers!
Hooray new camera! I also wouldn't know how to use it, but it sounds wonderful!
ReplyDeleteMy dog gets the zoomies all the time, but I have never heard it called that before! I am still cracking up; it's such a fun word, and a funny condition when they get it :D
