Did this test (only two questions, figured I could manage that much) and oh imagine my surprise when the result appeared! I'm a Doris. I'm happy. Who wouldn't be? (You can always do the test and see what you are.) The Doris-description fits me like a glove. Have to let hubs read it. He doesn't know me well enough, or just forgets sometimes.
You are a Doris -- "I must help others."
Dorises are warm, concerned, nurturing, and sensitive to other people's needs.

- * are outwardly compliant
- * are popular or try to be popular with other children
- * act coy, precocious, or dramatic in order to get attention

- * are good listeners, love their children unconditionally, and are warm and encouraging (or suffer guilt if they aren't)
- * are often playful with their children
- * wonder: "Am I doing it right?" "Am I giving enough?" "Have I caused irreparable damage?"
- * can become fiercely protective
Take Are You a Jackie or a Marilyn? Or Someone Else? Mad Men-era Female Icon Quiz at HelloQuizzy
My Mum's name was actually Doris, but I'm not sure she would have fitted the profile - I think I shall have to see what the quiz tells me I am! xxx
ReplyDeleteI'm an Ingrid Bergman. The other results were too long for me to copy and paste. :)
ReplyDeleteJinksy, will you be a Marilyn Monroe I wonder?
ReplyDeleteSkittles, how can you leave us like this? I want to know what an Ingrid Bergman is now. ;-)
I am a Doris, also. It also fits me like a glove, eery. Even my husband said it describes me to a T.
ReplyDeleteNo wonder we have hit it off.
Cece
Cecilia, yep, it fits your blog too ;-) Gosh, isn't it weird?
ReplyDeleteI'm a doris too.. maybe we all are!
ReplyDeleteJewels, no no my dear! There is at least one Ingrid that I know of (see Skittles' comment)and also I know of an Audrey.
ReplyDeleteBut I appreciate your thought, loved the fun time I just had in reading your comment and hope to share many more fun times with you, would you like to share some of your problems with me? because you are very important and special and I can't think of a critical thing to say about you.
(I hope you have your 'how to get along with a Doris'-list with you.)
Big smile
You're not going to believe this, but I am Jackie Kennedy.
ReplyDeleteHow cool to be a Doris. I know what you mean about husbands not knowing us very well. ;-)
ReplyDeleteHa Ha, I'm a Doris too!
ReplyDeletePS, sorry I make you cry so much on my blog, I really don't mean too, promise to get some happy posts going for you. And yes, I lost the guilt a long time ago.
Hugs
Rhymeswithplague, or Jackie, I hope you published that on your blog ;-)
ReplyDeleteYourEGTourGuide, did you do the quiz? Just wondering if you are a Doris too ;-)
T, haha, well, you are the Dorisest of all the Doris's if your blog is anything to go by ;-)
When I go over to your blog I go prepared, I take lots of handkerchiefs and cucumber to cool my eyes and I only visit you when I'm alone in the house. Your posts are just too moving ;-(
