Bumblebee-misery

This morning a big fat crow grabbed the bumblebee-nest from the hayloft and landed on the grass holding the nest in its beak. Then he/she ripped it apart and ate the little bumblebeebabies. The poor little bumblebees are now flying around where their nest used to be with big questionmarks above their heads. Fortunately we still have the photos.

  1. Didn't make them all buzz off to pastures new?

  2. Well I'm not a fan of the bumbles (I ate one once & it ended badly), but I hardly think they deserved that!

  3. Aww that is a shame. That does/did look an unusual place for them to nest. I like bees.

  4. No! Poor little bumblebees. And I had been quite thrilled to see the nest because I'd never seen one before. Hope they make it, we need bees!

  5. I hope they find somewhere safer to build a new one.
