A happy horse

These photos of Willem enjoying his daily roll are especially for
(who were slightly worried when they saw a horse rolling in a field and wondered if it is a normal thing to do for a horse)

See the stupid and slightly scary grin on Willem's face? Pure enjoyment!

  2. I love your photography. It's almost like I'm standing in your backyard and God froze time. I can't even come close to generating an image that clear with my camara. sigh. someday I'll take a class and figure out how. Willem looks blissfull. Maybe I'll go roll in the grass! Scratch that. I have cream coloured pants on. Grass stains are forever. Do you think Willem gets grass stains?

    Jewels,
I dó have a great camera.
Often I hear hubs sighing. He's the one that has to brush all the staines and sand out of Willem again. Hehe.

  7. You must have a very happy place. A horse has to feel pretty safe before he'll get down like that and roll over.

  8. Being a city boy, with most of my experience concerning horses coming from when I watch them finish 6th when I've bet on them to win, I would have assumed that any time a horse wasn't on it's feet it was bad news. I now learn it isn't. Next time I go to the racetrack, I'll have to tour the paddock area and look for horses having a lovely roll about :-)

  9. He's such a gorgeous looking fellow. Ours have long since lost their beautiful dapples and are just white although thanks to lots of rolling on the wet ground lately are looking a little more 'dappled' every day! Well captures, mine are done by the time I get the camera! Then one is so fat he can only roll downhill!

  11. Jinksy,
At least he has four feet
    ;-)

    Allhorsestuff,
See, I was slightly scared by his silly face. But I had a laugh about your horse ;-)

    IT,
They even lie down to have a nap sometimes. All three of them at the same time. Now that ís a sign they feel safe and relaxed ;-)

    Suldog,
...but please don't come to me if you've lost money on the rolling horse ;-)

    Baino,
LOL about the downhill rolling horse

Willem is so much lighter compared to a couple of years ago when we got him. He'll end up totally white too. Except for the mud patches... ;-)

    Lady Banana,
Hmm, and he even makes happy noises when he rolls. Sort of groaning... ;-)

    Mimi,
hi, so, is your computer alright again?

I think Willem is happy ;-)
