Born Wednesday, April 8th at 21.50 hrs (local time) a little girl, Eavanaloma (or Evie). Mother Naloma and Evie are doing fine. Evie is brown but it could very well be that she eventually turns out to be a white (or grey) horse. White horses are always darker coloured when they are born and both her father as her grandfathers are white. She has very light coloured hairs around her nose and above her eyes and that is a sign that she most probably will be white too.
Naloma is a very proud and caring and sweet mom. She is very friendly towards people.
The photos were made last Friday, when Evie was outside for the first time. You can click on them to enlarge. See for photos made just after the birth this post and for the story this post.
Sorry if I'm not visiting your blogs this week. Busybusybusy. Lots of people are visiting us....I mean: Naloma and Evie. We are merely caterers.
Happy Easter everyone! For more Camera Critters, hosted by the lovely Misty Dawn, see here.

What beautiful photographs of Evie and her mother. It must be such a thrill to witness the birth and growth.

Happy (belated) Easter!!
ReplyDeleteEvie is finding her footing fast. Humans don't learn as fast as that!!
I look forward to following her progress - and see if your right and she turns out to be white.
Side note: I only learnt a few years back that all babies (the human kind) are born white and it takes a while for black pigment to show in a black baby... so, we are the opposite to the horse breed ;)
Congrats on the new arrival - something tells me you have your hands full!
ReplyDeleteI wish we could visit! I would love to see a new horsie.
ReplyDeleteI have mentioned you, and your horses, over at my place today. You should come and see, of course, but then you will be obligated.
ReplyDeleteHeh-Heh.
She's gorgeous - and her mother is, too! I love all the pictures, there's nothing sweeter than a foal on those spindly legs exploring the world with Mum by her side!
