These are my favourite boots. I love boots. So let me introduce you to:
From left to right:
- My green Le Chameau rubber boots. Bought them about 6 years ago. Still in good order although I wear them almost every day, mucking out the stables, working in the garden, training and walking with the dogs. Found them in a shop with huntingsportsstuff, where they sell everything a hunter could want, in every colour! As long as it is green.
- My riding boots. Had them made to measure about 20 (yes, 20!) years ago. Also still in good nick. But that's because I stopped riding about a year later and then took it up again about 5 years ago, so I've been wearing them 6 years now. I love them! Dread the day I have to buy new ones for apparently I have unusually long shinbones, so they will have to be made to measure too. Aaaarghh.
- My new brown boots. They are so beautiful and look really nice with the skirt that I have and wear about twice a year. So they will probably last me for years to come too. Big smile!
- My absolute favorites, the real thing: actual Dubarry's. I finally gave in and bought them a couple of weeks before last Christmas. So now I really belong to the club of people with labradors, fourwheeldrives, a house in the country, a waxcoat and Dubarry's. My cool image went out the door as soon as the Dubarry's entered. But they are so comfortable and nice and warm. And so pricey that they will have to last me for at least 10 years. Let them be warned!

This "B" is made for walking (-:
ReplyDeleteHallo from Germany
Aaah, boots! I love them but don't have too many. I do have some wonderful warm sheepskin boots for winter, which are waterproof and great for dog walking.
ReplyDeleteI took up riding again last year after not riding for thirty years. Fun!
Carolina! What a great B! And you were worried! ;) I have a pair of 20+ year old brown boots as well...wouldn't trade them for the world. Sooo...what will C be?
ReplyDeleteGood word for B! You could have used your own name!
ReplyDeleteI love big boots & I cannot lie. :)
ReplyDeleteDear:
ReplyDeleteTim, hahahahaha!
Reader Wil, yep, so many B's to choose from.
Mel, share the bootylove!
Jay, you must have had some aching muscles after 30 years not riding! Isn't it the best sport/passion (apart from a certain Mr. Depp) ever?
All the other lovely commentators: thanks! See you at C!
What a fun post, great idea. I love boots too.
ReplyDeleteThe latest here are Ugg boots, I think they are from Austrailia...very expensive. So I bought FUGGS - fake uggs and they are just as nice. Good post.
ReplyDeleteOooh, I love both pictures of them all lined up together! I don't have any boots anymore, and I just moved back to a snowy climate from a semitropical one.. time to go shoe shopping ;)
ReplyDeleteWow! You got plenty pair of boots. :) I only have one.
ReplyDeleteby the way, I enjoyed very much reading your post here. :)
Hi Grace, thanks ;-)
ReplyDeletePictureeachday, Yippeeeeee!!!! Have fun!
Suzanne, Uggs (or Fuggs, haha) are in fashion here too. They look very comfy, my Dubarry's however broke the bank, so no (f)uggs for me.
Celeste, thanks, I believe this is a real womensubject. Lots of us love boots :-)
