Broken

my wrist that is. can’t be bothered with capitals since i’m typing with 2 fingers of my right hand now. the other hand is neatly wrapped up in plaster. only a plaster splint for now to allow space for swelling and then next week they’ll fit me with a nice coloured plaster (i’m thinking orange because of the olympics which i like watching and it will also make me very popular with people who love football/soccer, which i don’t care about at all, but that information will be purely given out on a need-to-know-basis). i will have to wear that for 6 weeks and if not all is well by then i can choose another (or the same) colour for another 6 weeks. apparently i broke a tiny bone with a long name that has a reputation for being a bad healer. fingers crossed it will behave in my wrist.

so. that is why i will have one white and one brown arm at the end of summer.

will have to do what petje does best, just relax and enjoy the sun.

  1. Oh no, I'm so sorry to hear that it is broken. I hope you heal quickly and the plaster doesn't hinder you too much. Great picture of the kitty. Orange does sound nice might be hard to match outfits to it though. Maybe if you put sunscreen on your other arm they will match by the time the cast comes off. Heal quickly.

  2. Is the name of the little bone John Jacob Jingleheimer-Schmidt?

    A little levity often helps.

Although there's really nothing to laugh about.

  7. Ugh. Sorry to hear about your casting call. For what good it will do coming from a reprobate such as myself, I will say a prayer. In the meantime, I think your idea to join Petje in the sun, and mellow out, is a wonderful idea.

  8. Oh horses, always good to make something blogworthy happen! If only they realised it would be better to stay on the fun side of blogworthy and that human sized prints in sand belong on the beach and not in the arena!
Hope your wrist bone behaves and takes the shorter option of healing in 6 weeks instead of 12. In the meantime, all you can do is discover zen with Petje, who seems to know exactly what life is really about :-)

  9. Oh SNAP...I broke mine on Good Friday, then snapped an extensor tendon 4 days before the cast came off. One of the k wires had severed it so I'm back in a splint for five weeks...take it easy. Try Windows 7 Speech Recpgnition
