It’s Sunday again. Time for the Sunday Selections, hosted by Kim from Frogpondsrock. They do, you know.
Anyway, if you have tons of photos hanging around in your computer somewhere, waiting for a reason to be shown to the blogging world, hop over to the rocking frog ponds and follow the almost non-existent rules for joining in.
This Sunday I thought I’d get into Spring-mood and show you some colourful tulips. One of our cats, Snoesje is hiding behind the tulips, while guarding the newspaper.
Nothing special, just nice and cheerful.
When I buy tulips, I buy lots of bunches in different colours and mix them up. And if the colours clash, so be it. I like it that way. Makes me smile.
Very pretty. Let's hope Spring gets here quickly and we can grow our own flowers in the sunshine and warm weather. Cute cat.
ReplyDelete'Yes' on all those points ;-)
DeleteI love the last photo! the focus is so precise and the blur is just beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThanks ;-)
DeleteOh, makes me think of spring. And cuddly cats, of course.
ReplyDeleteMission completed ;-)
DeleteSo beautiful! I love tulips. They make me think of visiting Holland as a child. Thank you for brightening my morning!
ReplyDeleteGlad to be of service ;-)
DeleteI went to the Aalsmeer flower auction when I was in the Netherlands (years ago - the same time I was listening to 8-tracks). It was too late for the tulips, but the amount and diversity of flowers there was amazing. Would love to come back sometime when the tulip fields are blooming.
ReplyDeleteNever been to the Aalsmeer flower auction, but I know it is huge! When the tulip fields are blooming, I'll try to shoot some photos and post them just for you ;-)
DeleteThey are a joy. You have captured two of my obsessions (cats and the garden) in one shot. Love it. The gardening companies have been sending me porn (catalogues) for a little while now to entice me to buy more bulbs. And I will succumb too.
ReplyDeleteHaha, love that you call the gardening catalogues 'porn'. I know what you mean ;-) I have planted tulip bulbs in our garden, but I can't be bothered by the whole thing of taking them out and replanting them to ensure another year of flowering. So I just leave them and hope for the best. Usually that doesn't work ;-)
DeleteTulips are Barry's favourite flower so of course they don't grow well in the garden. I keep trying, though.
ReplyDeleteI can only refer you to my above comment to the Elephant's Child ;-)
DeleteI love that first picture!!
ReplyDeleteTulips are beautiful. I have some Princess Irene's which are just showing above the soil - I'm looking forward to seeing those in bloom again. They were bought in memory of my lovely greyhound, the princess Renie.
As soon as I read 'Princess Irene's', I knew they were for your Renie. That is such a lovely idea, to plant roses or tulips or other flowers for the furry friends that are no longer with us.
Delete:-)
I was wondering where you saw those tulips when I remembered those two vases in your home.
