Sunday Selections #57: The random selection

Sunday Selections is hosted by Kim from Frogpondsrock and is the place to post those photos that have been hanging around for far too long in folders on your computer. If you have poor, unseen photos lurking somewhere in the depths of your computer, join in and hop over to the rocking frog ponds to follow the almost non-existent rules.

This week I thought I’d give you an impression of last week’s weather. Blue skies, sun, snow and freezing. Quite nice actually.
Yesterday I went shopping with a friend in Groningen and people were ice skating on the canals. It looked so picturesque. But of course I didn’t have a camera with me. Perhaps I’ll go back to Groningen today to take some photos. Apparently today is the last day people can skate, because thaw will set in later this afternoon. We’ll see what the day will bring.

    1. Thank you so much. I like them too. Sometimes a photo just works and I don't know why ;-)

  3. Lovely! I like the trees, especially the one with the little bird.

Our blue skies and sunshine have given way to grey and quite dull and everything is icy.

    1. Yep, here too. Grey, watery cold and snow. Not nice at all. Ah well, one day it will be Spring.

  4. The footprints in the snow has sent me off into a daydream. That level of snow and ice is unimaginable to me. We get snow here occasionally in the winter, but that is because I am 415 metres above sea level and it never settles for longer than half a day anymore.

The photo of the jet with the slipstream is wonderful. Thank you for joining in Carolina, I always enjoy your photos you have a lovely eye.

    1. Thank you :-)
It is raining now, which means hazardous conditions with the ground still frozen. It's pretty slippery outside. But the temperatures are higher, so the snow will disappear quickly now. Did take some photos of ice skaters and other people in a snowstorm yesterday (some are already on my photoblog: brinkbeestphotos.blogspot.com)

      See you next week ;-)

  5. Does that mean spring is on its way? It's been almost mild here today.

    Enjoy your marzipan.

    1. Superglue Marja, superglue ;-)

No I just do my tree impression and use a fast shutter speed. And then hope for the best. Sometimes it works. More often not. I find it difficult too.

I took some photos of the ice skaters in Groningen. Next post!

  7. At first I wondered about that first photo: didn't quite get it. And then I saw the plane! Great shot!
