Look. My human says that I look like a Shetland pony, but behave like a thoroughbred. I don’t know about the thoroughbred, but I am way above a Shetland pony.
And then she said: “We’re going to do something about that incredibly furry coat of yours today.”
So she and the man human got out the clipping thing and started clipping my nice, shiny and warm coat. Oh, I don’t mind. I quite enjoy the tickling sensation. But I’m not sure they know what they’re doing. What do you think?
Does it look anything like the picture in the book yet?
There didn’t seem to be a method to their madness. Clipping a bit here and then a bit there. Handing the machine over to each other. And she kept giggling and taking photos with her iPod. I didn’t have much confidence that the end result would be something I could be seen with in public.
Oh man! I don’t want to look.
I don’t suppose it can be glued back again?
I feel so… naked.
But it could have been worse. It could. Couldn’t it? With a bit of imagination one could think I’m wearing sexy stockings. This is my sexy walk.
I can tell you are impressed.
They even managed to do the other side of me almost exactly the same. Okay, you’ll have to believe me on my word.
I don't know that much about horses, but was that a wise thing to do with winter coming on and all? Won't she be cold?
ReplyDeleteRWP: We'll put a blanket on her. Her winter coat is so incredibly long and warm that she breaks out in a sweat even when she's just standing in the field. When I ride her, she sweats even more and it takes ages before she's dry again. Even when I put a 'sweat absorbing blanket' (they do exist) on her. The weather is just too warm still.
ReplyDeleteSo this is a solution and we have so many horse blankets that she'll be nice and comfortably warm, whatever the weather. And next Spring she'll shed the rest of her fur coat, ready for summer. Willem's and Evie's fur coats are only half as long as Naloma's, so they won't need clipping.
Naloma, I think you look absolutely gorgeous. You're a show stopper with your new hair cut. Very sexy indeed! One quick question for your human, what does the name Naloma mean (if anything), it's very pretty and different.
ReplyDeleteThat's a task and a half. Naloma, you're very lucky your humans didn't lose heart half-way through. Anyway, you look very smart.
ReplyDeleteGrey Horse Matters: I'm blushing ;-) Thank you.
ReplyDeleteI don't think Naloma means anything, but I'm not sure. I'm a KWPN horse (Royal Dutch Warmblood) and each year the name of a newborn KWPN horse has to start with a different letter. In my year of birth that letter was N. My grandmother was called Eloma, my mother Aloma and therefore I'm Naloma. Actually, the Loma 'tribe' is very famous in the jumping world. But I'm not arrogant about that at all ;-)
My daughter is called Eavanaloma. Her name had to begin with E. She's called Evie for short.
Jabblog: Thank you. Just between you and me... I didn't have much confidence in their clipping ability, but I'm not disappointed. It makes me look slimmer too ;-)
ReplyDeleteI was going to get my clippers out to cut the back of my hair today, but maybe you've succeeded in putting me off! LOL
ReplyDelete'I don't suppose it could be glued back on?' Hahahahaha!! Poor Naloma!
ReplyDeleteNaloma, sweetie, you look gorgeous - very glam. And you do look just like the picture! The humans did a pretty good job. ;)
Jinksy: I could come over and do it for you.
ReplyDeleteI'd bring my own clippers ;-)
Jay: Thank you! (from Naloma and her humans ;-))
And what a fabulous sexy walk it is!
ReplyDeleteFunniest post ever!
