Sunday Selections

Hosted by Kim from Frogpondsrock. Finally a good excuse to post those photos that are hanging around aimlessly in all those folders on your computer.

This birch has interesting bark…

…and an interesting face? Big nose though.

These dried flowers of the Hydrangea aspera look like lace.

It’s not as sharp as I’d like it to be; it was quite a windy day. Oh I know the background is blurred, but that is deliberate. But the foreground could have been crisper too. I’ll have to try again, on a nice and calm day, to make a decent shot of these beauties.

And how did that horse sneak into this post?

  1. I do like your photos. I especially like the fact that we "see" the same sorts of things from opposite sides of the world.

  2. I love tree bark. Some of the trees in the rainforest where I grew up have beautiful lichens and mosses on them, and sort of remind me of your birches. They're really beautiful.

  7. The birch bark is beautiful and the birch "face" is amusing. What a good eye you have to see that.

The Hydrangea aspera blossoms are beautiful; they are indeed like fine lace.

I very much enjoyed your Sunday Selections.

  8. You did a good job on the tree bark, Carolina - not always easy, I know! What looks spectacular on the tree is often disappointing on my computer!

The horse is a real beauty! Which one is it?

  14. You're right, that leaf does remind me of my mother's lace (she makes it herself). Very pretty.

  15. Beautiful photos! I often think it is sad to have so much pretty stuff just hiding in the computer. You gave me an idea for another post, thanks!
