Laptop trouble

Better late than never: HAPPY NEW YEAR everyone.

Sadly my trusted laptop died just before Christmas. I say ‘died’ just to make it a touch more dramatic than it already is, but it is currently in the hands of a bunch of computer geeks who might be able to resuscitate it. One can only hope.

It appears that I was very attached to laptop. Some people might say ‘almost physically’, but certainly emotionally. I discovered that when it stopped breathing and we had to leave it at laptop hospital. I now wish I treated laptop nicer during its short life (I have often threatened to throw it out of the window. Poor thing.)

I am now using another computer to write this, but it isn’t a great solution. I have to use a mouse and I am probably the only person in the world who prefers a touchpad to a mouse, so I’m slightly very irritated. And this keyboard can’t cope with my incredibly fast typing skills. No, really.

So, that is why I probably won’t be in Blogworld very often until I get my laptop back. Which will hopefully be soon.

I do have a great story to tell you though. At least I think it’s a great story. But this weird keyboard (that ís what you call the thing one uses to type is it?) and the @#^&*# mouse make me mad in so many ways that I just can’t bring myself to type it now. (What a cliff-hanger!)

Perhaps tomorrow. Or some time next week Vingers gekruist

  2. Oh, my! Sorry about your laptop. Forgive me for my chuckles while reading the remainder of the post. I'll be checking daily to see if you've posted the great story. Cliff-hanger, indeed.

A Belated Happy New Year to you, too.

  3. Aww I share your pain. I've had woeful internet connection and not being able to keep in touch is driving me crazy. I'm on a 9 year old Mac and I'm sure it's gonna die very soon. Just hope it holds out until April when my American friend delivers the new laptop

  4. Ok...I got the sweats just reading this. I'm thinking this week would probably be a good time to start backing up all of my files from my beloved laptop. But first I'd have to actually remove it from my lap.

Hugs and kisses from your crazy American BBFF! xoxoxo

  5. We were wondering what happened to you. HO HO HO and then nothing.

Sorry to hear that your laptop has kicked the bucket. "Kicked the bucket" is a euphemism for "bought the farm" which is a euphemism for "pushing up daisies" which is a euphemism for...well, you know.

Hey Mel! Wise move to make back-ups. I did too fortunately. I only miss a lot of email-addresses, nothing worse. And I miss my laptop obviously ;-)

    RWP,
Oh, but perhaps it will be resuscitated. So it's not pushing up daisies yet. I live in hope ;-)

  11. Computer geeks are wonderful young men , deserving of every consideration.
Once you find a good one , you should marry your prettiest young female relation to him and make him FAMILY . Failing that , tip him lavishly and name your firstborn after him .
Hope you get it back soon . You're missed .

  13. Only just caught up with this. Sorry about the sickly laptop. I sympathise with you about the mouse - it's annoying when you're used to a touch pad.
Hope 2011 is kind to you :-)
