It’s Sunday again. Time for the Sunday Selections, hosted by Kim from Frogpondsrock. They do, you know.
Anyway, if you have tons of photos hanging around in your computer somewhere, waiting for a reason to be shown to the blogging world, hop over to the rocking frog ponds and follow the almost non-existent rules for joining in.
This Sunday I thought I’d get into spring-mood again and just randomly pick some photos from a folder dated May 2009. Our first foal was born in April 2009 and she, her mom and our other horse stayed for about 6 weeks with the horses and foals of friends in luscious green meadows nearby. The first two photos I shot there. The last three are of our garden and are mainly there to remind me that it will look like that again soon, for it is now in a sorry, muddy state.
Each winter I lose faith and cannot believe that it will ever look pretty, green and flowery again. And each spring I’m proved wrong.
So, this year I’m keeping the faith! And my fingers crossed.
I love the rabbits! And the frog! Kim will hopefully see it!
ReplyDeleteIf ever a frog pond rocked, it is ours ;-) (And I believe the rabbits are actually hares.)
DeleteOh so beautiful! I've just come across this Sunday Selections idea and LOVE it, I've found some beautiful blogs as a result, and will be doing by own Sunday Selections later today - can't wait to look up some old pics! Thanks for sharing these x
ReplyDeleteHa, thank you! And I'm looking forward to your Sunday Selections ;-)
DeleteBeautiful photos,I'm looking forward to reading more of your blog - the hares are stunning, I love them (but haven't seen any around here yet, Spring springs a bit later in NE Scotland than in the Netherlands)
DeleteHi, thanks. I haven't seen hares yet this year either. Although I did see the first crocuses almost in bloom this afternoon in our garden. Made my heart jump. Finally... it looks like Spring is springing here. I'm sure it will be over at your place pretty soon too. I'll send some Spring-vibes towards Scotland ;-)
DeleteBeautiful pictures. Spring will be here soon and you'll be able to enjoy all the colors again.
ReplyDeleteThanks to your sweet comment I live in hope ;-)
DeleteOh how green it is in both your paddocks and your garden. We have had a much, much wetter summmer than usual and the green of our garden doesn't compare with yours.
ReplyDeleteAnd what's not to love about hares and frogs.
Perhaps you could use some of our well-rotted horse manure to spread over your grass. Guaranteed greenness!
DeleteThat meadow looks gorgeous - and oh! You have HARES!!! They are becoming quite rare here in England. The Romans brought them over, you know.
ReplyDeleteI love your garden - what a great pond that is. :)
I didn't realize hares are rare. Perhaps they are quite rare here too? I don't often see them, but sometimes I spot them in the fields opposite our house. Always a joy.
DeleteI LOVE the photo of the hares.
ReplyDeleteIt's gorgeous where you live.
Thanks ;-)
DeleteWonderful spring photos, Carolina. Thought we were going to spring early here in North Carolina, but, would you believe it, snow here tonight.
ReplyDeleteSnow again? Man! That's not what we agreed. I did send some sunshine your way. Ah well, perhaps it will arrive later ;-)
DeleteYou have photographed hares! I'm envious. I always get unreasonably excited when I see hares. As it's March I suppose I should be out hare-hunting now. I love your laburnum, too. We had one but it died after a few years and has never been replaced.
ReplyDeleteOur laburnum isn't as healthy as it used to be either. but as long as it is still up and flowering... ;-) I does brighten up the otherwise very green garden in spring. And I love seeing hares too.
DeleteLovely selection. I love the march hares in the field; did you see them fighting?
ReplyDeleteFriko, it is all peaceful and quiet and lovely here. No fighting whatsoever is going on ;-)
DeleteYou live in a beautiful place love the pond and what a great picture with the jumping frog. Love the rabbits as well Great shot
ReplyDeleteMarja, Marja, Marja... *sigh*, I'm assuming it is still early morning at your end of the world :-) The frog isn't jumping; it is floating in the water. And the rabbits are in fact hares. But... the rest of your comment is very accurate and true ;-)
DeleteInteresting horses you have. I never saw them hop before!
ReplyDeleteYou need to brush up on your animal knowledge ;-)
DeleteLove the one of the hares (or are they rabbits?)
ReplyDeleteWe're having temps in the 70 degree F range the past two days - a record for Boston area. Flowers are blooming, etc., and I hope a late snowstorm doesn't kill everything later...
