Serial baker

Remember I told you about my friend who is expecting two babies and that I was supposed to take photos of her big belly and of hér big bellied friend? If not, you can read about it here.
Well, the bun shooting was scheduled for Thursday before last, but when the day came, friend of friend decided to have her baby that afternoon. And I had cleaned the house, washed the windows, painted some walls, all for the occasion, but then they didn’t arrive because just before they were coming my way, the baby announced that it wanted to leave the oven. Exciting stuff. (It’s a healthy boy.)
Friend and I rescheduled the shooting of the remaining bun to yesterday.
And yesterday afternoon, the belly entered my reasonably clean and freshly painted house. Really. First the belly entered and somewhere behind that my friend followed. She’s a serial baker. She already has two cute little girls and now she’s carrying two little… boys.

(Do you like the new colour of the wall? It makes a change from white. We love it and so does everyone who’s seen it. Or they just were being polite.)

Yep. I only have beautiful friends. They must pass the gorgeousness test, otherwise they are not allowed into ‘the inner circle’.
And yes, we do also have a black wall. In fact it is a huge blackboard that divides the kitchen from the dining area. On the kitchen side of it we write down recipes and other important stuff. The dining room side we reserve for drawings by visiting children of serial baking friends and the occasional scribble of our own hand.

Crazy friend (she is very crazy in a fun way) tucked the cute sheep in her ‘bellywarmer’. Why not.

  1. Wonderful photographs, Carolina! And the sheep look very comfortable - not so sure about the bump, though...

  2. The photos look great and the wall is good too. And I love the idea of a blackboard wall. It beats taping the recipes to the kitchen cabinets or using a music stand!

  5. Jinksy,
I think you're right about the uncomfortable bump. About seven weeks to go...

    Mara,
On the other hand... using a music has a certain je-ne-sais-quoi about it. Makes you look very sophisticated. But the blackboard is very practical. Can highly recommend it.

    KK,
The blueish/greenish wall colour is called Caribbean Puur Aqua by Flexa. It is sort of a dark turqoise. It's a strong colour. Makes me smile every time I look at it. Very important!

    Mimi,
I can highly recommend the blackboard wall! And also the caribbean aqua coloured wall, which makes me happy. Simple things, but very effective.
    Love you back ;-)

  8. Putz,
Yes, you definitely belong in the inner circle ;-) And a serial baker is the opposite of a serial killer.

  9. How lovely! That last one is a classic shot, and yes, I do love the colour of that wall! It's (like your friend) gorgeous!

I wish those 'be pregnant and be proud' clothes had been around when i was pregnant. In my day it was tent (or should that be 'galleon') shaped dresses or elastic waisted trousers with the smock top. The one time in my life when my belly was supposed to be bigger than average and I wasn't allowed to take advantage of it! LOL!

  10. Aww she must be delighted with these and yes, I love the teal wall. Mine are all white, perhaps it's time for a feature wall but I'm such a messy painter.
