Lyme update and some Autumnal lovelyness

First of all I would like to thank you all for your lovely, kind and caring comments and emails about my Lyme disease. Although some of you apparently thought I'd be dead within a week or so, I'm happy to say that I'm not.
Yet.
Actually, after spending most of last week horizontally (lying on the sofa; I didn't know someone could be sooooo tired), last Saturday I felt much better. The dreaded red circle is still visible, but has decreased in redness and in size. Coming Wednesday I'll probably go to the doctor again and ask for a second dose of antibiotics, just to be on the safe side, but it looks and feels like I'm recovering. We'll see if the doctor agrees. Since I felt so much better, Sunday morning two of my friends and I went on an Autumnal photohunt. We are doing a photography course together and wanted to see if we are really understanding everything we are taught so far. So we went into one of the forests close to our house and had a great time. A whole 50 meters walk took us about an hour, because every interesting looking leaf had to be photographed by my friends. From about 10 different angles. *sigh*
I saw some lovely leaves, but also some very different things on our walk:
an alien invader
a farmhouse, typical for our neck of the woods
beautiful isn't it?
how cute are they?
some lovely young ladies

Hope you enjoyed the little Autumn walk through our 'backyard'.

  1. Glad you're feeling a bit better again. And the photos are super, especially the one with the ladies, although the third lady could have turned around!

  2. OOO! She's up and around! YAY! The pictures are awesome...I'm particularly fond of the alien invader...being a closet serial killer and all. ; )

    Big hugs my friend!

  4. Good to see you're on the mend. I really must get cracking with a photo course, the last one was an all day event and it poured! Beautiful surroundings made all the nicer by the autumn colours. I could just canter down that little tree lined road!

  5. Glad to hear you are feeling better and I love all the Autumnal colours - here in British Columbia we have lots of coniferous trees and so we miss out on some of the glorious colours of deciduous woodlands.

  7. I'm so glad you're well enough for a photo-walk. You found some gorgeous scenes and colours. Just take things easy and don't do too much too quickly!

  8. So glad you're feeling better. Your photos are great, the tiny pony looks so cute but from bitter experience I know they can sometimes be little b****s. We've got some similar ladies residing in the field by our house accompanied by a big black bull

  12. I LOVED your little autumn walk! And I'm so glad to hear you're feeling better!

The pony and trap is very cute - and reminds me of one lost photo op while on holiday. We were driving along a quiet mountain road when we came across a real, genuine cowboy - he had all the gear, including the rope around his saddle horn. I guess he might just have been camping ... but no. I'm convinced he was the real deal. He even had a dog with him.

Why didn't I stop to take his picture? We-e-ll, he was leaning down from his horse talking to a State Trooper who was leaning up from his car. I didn't want to interrupt anything. You know. There might have been Trouble brewing.

    LOL!

  17. Gorgeous shots!!

If one for Down Under was to visit your parts of the world, what time of the year would you recommend?

  18. Thank you for your advice on when to visit. You're not confused - I have mentioned that my partner has been over to your parts. However, his trip was more about just seeing family and when/if I go, it will be about culture and photography!! :) (sorry family)

P.S - we running a tee giveaway at the moment. If you've ever seen a tee by us that you like, now's your chance at a free one :)
